Leicester Street Reconstruction Phase 1
Project Name :
Leicester Street Reconstruction – Phase 1
Project Description :
The first phase of the Leicester Street Reconstruction Project calls for the reconstruction of Leicester Street between Route 20 and Ennis Road. The roadway will be “reclaimed” and the ground pavement material utilized as sub-base for the new pavement structure. The existing sidewalks will be reconstructed and widened. Drainage improvements will include the installation of new drainage structures and pipe network.

Due to the narrow width of Leicester Street and the size of the equipment required to carry out this work Leicester Street will be closed daily from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday – Friday. All traffic from Route 12 to Ennis Road will be allowed.
Construction will take place during the summer months while school is out. Therefore, minimal impacts to school transportation are anticipated. DPW will coordinate with the School Department should any accommodations need to be made for school transportation.

Every effort will be made to limit inconveniences to residents, business owners, and local traffic. For any questions or concerns regarding the project or construction activity please contact the DPW office.
