Qualified Fire Protection Engineers are invited to submit Qualification Packages for furnishing designer services in connection with the Installation of Fire Protective Signaling and Automatic Fire Detection Systems at the Oxford Middle School located at 497 Main Street in Oxford Massachusetts. Complete Qualification Packages will be received at the Office of the Town Manager, 325 Main Street, Oxford, Massachusetts 01540 until 3:00 p.m. on November 16, 2006. In accordance with the Town of Oxford Procedures for Designer Selection, the Qualification Packages will be
delivered to a Designer Selection Committee, to be established for this project, which will, in open public meeting, review the Qualification Packages and recommend three finalists to the Manager for negotiation of contract.
The Work envisioned in this Project involves: the installation of a Fire Protective Signaling System (pull stations, strobe/speaker devices as required by 780 CMR 917; the installation of Automatic Fire Detection System(s) (smoke and heat detectors) as required by 780 CMR 918; installation of magnetic hold open devices on hall doors that deactivate upon alarm activation; and addition of a “life safety branch” to the emergency power supply system. The selected designer will be hired for project development, schematic design, preparation of construction drawings and specifications, and bidding and construction services.
Qualification Packages must include sufficient information to demonstrate the individual’s experience in cost-effective retro-fitting of fire protection systems for school buildings.
