Long Term Disability Insurance
The Town of Oxford administers, through Standard Life Insurance Company, two group life insurance policies to the employees at the time of hire. They are the Basic Life Insurance Plan and the Voluntary Life Plan. The Basic Life Plan provides a $2,000 death benefit, which reduces to $1,000 at retirement. The town pays 50% of the cost and the employee pays 50%.
The Voluntary Plan provides coverage up to $40,000 and this is available at the employee’s expense. (100% employee paid) (Plan coverage reduces to $5,000 at age 70 and terminates at age 75)
