The Oxford Cultural Council (OCC) is the local council partner of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC).
The Massachusetts Cultural Council is the state agency committed to building a central place for the arts, sciences and humanities in the everyday lives of communities across the Commonwealth. MCC pursues this mission through a combination of grant programs, partnerships, and services for nonprofit cultural organizations, schools, communities, and individual artists.
The Oxford Cultural Council receive funds from the Massachusetts Cultural Council each year to award to local performers and organizations The primary responsibility of the OCC is to evaluate and fund grant applications that support arts, sciences and humanities in the Oxford community. OCC disperses approximately more than $5,000 in Oxford each year, supporting local events such as Concerts at the Bandstand, individual performers at the Senior Center and field trips for OPS classes. OCC must maintain a minimum of 5 members in order to continue to receive funds from MCC.
